To register for January 2019 homeschool programs, please call the Reservation Office at 410-545-5945 to reserve your programming. The Reservation Office is open Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Payment is due at the time of registration by credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Capacities for enrichment programs are limited and do sell out quickly. Advance registration is encouraged. All sales are final and no refunds or exchanges.
We are located at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor at the intersection of Light Street and Key Highway. Our physical address is 601 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
Homeschoolers attending the Homeschool event should use the Constellation Energy Learning Entrance located on the Key Highway side of the building. Do not use the main Harborside Entrance.
We validate parking at three nearby garages. Vouchers for all garages can be picked up at the Security Desk located on Level One.
- Use the Royal Sonesta Garage
- Enter on Lee Street between Light Street and Charles Street. Bring your parking ticket and receive a voucher providing you with a flat rate of $15.00 for the day.
- Use the Gallery Garage
- Enter from Calvert Street or South Street. Bring your parking ticket and receive a voucher providing you with a flat rate of $9.00 for the day.
- Use Arrow Parking Garage
- Which is located at 11 E. Lee Street between Light Street and Charles Street. Bring your parking ticket and receive a voucher providing you with a flat rate of $15.00 for the day. Please note that the Arrow Parking Garage is cash only.
Late comers will still be admitted into their programming with the exception of programs held in the Planetarium. There are no refunds or exchanges on any portion of missed programming. In case of a weather incident, please refer to the weather incident policy.
The Science Center offers delicious, nutritious meals and snacks in Elements Café. We also offer a Brown Bag Zone for those who wish to bring their own food. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parents are permitted to attend programming with their children and sit in the back of the class. Please be considerate to others enjoying programming and remove any younger siblings that may pose as a distraction.
All programs are age specific. Children must be in age appropriate programming and must be the age of their programming by January 31, 2019.
Yes! If you plan to just tour the exhibits only, and are not participating in any programs, you do not need to register in advance. You will, however, need to register on the day you come in to tour the exhibits. Exhibits-only admission fee is $5.00 per person.
Any programming that is available on the day of your visit can be added at the door.
If the Maryland Science Center is open for business in the event of inclement weather, you will not receive a refund and or be able to exchange your tickets. In the event the Maryland Science Center is closed, your cancelled programs will automatically be rescheduled to the week of Tuesday, January 22nd – Friday, January 25th. Your programs will take place the same day of the week as originally scheduled. No refunds will be issued if you cannot attend the rescheduled programs. Call the Maryland Science Center’s home school line after 7am for any closing or scheduling updates at 410-545-5945.
