Get your hands dirty and grow something from the ground up!
This beginner-friendly seed starting workshop, intended for ages 12+, covers everything you need to successfully start plants at home. We’ll provide all the materials for starting tomato and pepper plants, and you’ll leave with four planted seed starters of your own. Along the way, you’ll learn about soil selection, ideas for lighting, watering techniques, and how to harden off transplants for a smooth transition outdoors.
Additional Information:
- Space in the classroom is limited to registered participants.
- The cost of the workshop includes all materials necessary for starting two tomato plants and two pepper plants to take home, with hands-on instruction. It does not include admission to the exhibit halls.
- This workshop is expertly led by Maryland Science Center instructors.
