Learn about Rear Admiral David J. Faehnle’s experience flying with the United States Navy during a special question and answer session in the Maryland Science Center’s St. John Properties IMAX Theater. Then take a behind the scenes look at what it takes to become a Blue Angel with a screening of the film, The Blue Angels 3D.
Presentation and Q&A session start at 11:00am. IMAX film will follow at 11:30am. This Sail 250 event hosted by the Maryland Science Center is FREE to participate and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Naval District Washington Commandant, Rear Admiral Faehnle comes from a STEM background with a degree in aerospace engineering, has accumulated over 3,400 flight hours—flying such aircrafts as the F-14 Tomcat and the F-5N Tiger II, and has completed 410 high-precision carrier arrested landings. He has been awarded the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and numerous other personal and unit awards.

The Blue Angels 3D will show at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm on Saturday, June 27. The 11:30am showtime is free to all participants on a first-come, first served basis. All other showtimes are $5 per ticket and do not require the participant to purchase Maryland Science Center admission.
