Practice woodworking and build your own planter box! Registration required.
Roll up your sleeves and get ready to learn real woodworking techniques as you build your own planter box. Practice how to safely swing a hammer, use a power drill, and operate a scroll saw in a supportive, hands-on environment. Then, take your new skills and put them to work as you assemble your own planter box to take home—ready to display your favorite plant or flowers. This workshop is designed for ages 12+. No prior experience needed.
Additional Information:
- Space in the classroom is limited to registered participants. Participants under the age of 18 may bring along one adult to help them complete their project, though this is not required.
- The cost of the workshop includes all materials necessary for building a planter (see the photo below) with hands-on instruction. It does not include plants or admission to the exhibit halls.
- This workshop is expertly led by Maryland Science Center instructors.
