The Dr. H. Bentley Glass Scholarship is awarded to a Baltimore City public high school student who intends to pursue post-secondary STEM studies at a four-year college or university or two-year college. This $1,500 non-renewable scholarship is intended to support the recipient’s education-related expenses. The scholarship recipient will also receive a paid Summer Internship at the Maryland Science Center.

How To Apply:

A completed application and all supporting documentation must be received at the Maryland Science Center by the deadline of Friday, March 27, 2026.

Late or incomplete applications will not receive consideration.

Eligibility

Students must meet the following criteria to receive consideration:

  • Baltimore City public high school student graduating in 2025
  • Cumulative high school standard WEIGHTED GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Acceptance at a four-year college/university or a two-year community college
  • Intent to pursue STEM studies (science, technology, engineering or mathematics)
  • Documented financial need

Congratulations to our 2026 scholar, Keiser Powell!

Keiser Powell attends Coppin Academy where he appears routinely on the merit roll and Principal’s Honor Roll along with dual enrollment in Coppin State University classes.

He shares his time in academic pursuits with service as a former class president, member of the swim club, and volunteering at the Food for Health food pantry. Keiser has set his career path along the academic focus of the Academy’s computer science and information technology focus.

He will be attending Hampton University
in the fall where he plans to pursue a major in cybersecurity
