Join the Maryland Science Center for a virtual workshop for Junior Girl Scouts. Scouts will learn to design, build and test multiple machines to earn their mechanical engineering badges in our Girl Scouts Mechanical Engineering Workshop!
Information for Junior Girl Scouts by date
Juniors will learn about energy, simple and compound machines, and the design process. Then they will design, build, and test a balloon car, paddle boat and crane. A materials list can be found here.March 31
Join us on March 31 for a one-day virtual Girl Scouts Mechanical Engineering Workshop.
10:45am-11:00am – Participants can log onto the Zoom platform
11:00am-12:40pm – Badge 2: Balloon Car Design Challenge
12:40pm-1:10pm – Break
1:10pm-2:50pm – Badge 1: Paddle Boat Design Challenge
2:50pm-4:40pm – Badge 3: Crane Design Challenge
Cost: $55 per participant
- Mechanical Engineering patches are not included in this workshop. They should be purchased at the Girl Scout shop.

- The mini sessions from March 30-April 1 are scheduled until 3pm but might end up to 20 minutes early depending on the number of participants who sign up.
