Ready? Aim. Launch!
Discover the power of simple machines and kinetic energy as you engineer a catapult for the Snowball Catapult Challenge! Design and build at home, then put your completed launcher to the test on Saturday, January 23 at the Maryland Science Center. Can your catapult display soaring distance, superior strength, or top-notch accuracy?
For this challenge, the Maryland Science Center will provide a simple kit of materials as the starting point for the catapult. The rest is up to you and your imagination! Join the event on Facebook for tips and tricks to help you along the way, and to discuss your progress with other participants.
All teams must register in advance. Registration includes one kit of basic materials and free admission to the science center for one participant on the day of the challenge. Participation is limited to 50 teams. This event is SOLD OUT!
Kits will be available for pick up Friday-Sunday, 10am-4pm, December 18-January 17, with the exception of Friday, December 25 and January 1.
The results are in! Check out how your team compared to the other catapults.
