showtimes

Chemical Reactions
Shows a variety of chemical reactions, providing brief explanations concerning the nature of each one. Discuss clock reactions, catalysts, endothermic, and exothermic reactions.
Combustion Reactions
Explains how the "Fire Triangle" (i.e. fuel, oxygen, and heat) must be present for combustion to occur. Demonstrates ways in which materials can burn and be prevented from burning.
High Voltage Electricity
Demonstrates the inventions of Nicola Tesla and explains the nature of high voltage electricity.

  Inertia
Demonstrates Newton's First Law of Motion by snatching a tablecloth from under a stack of dishes. Explains that we use seat belts to keep our own inertia from carrying us out of our car during sudden stops.
Liquid NitrogenExplains the science of cryogenics and demonstrates how liquid nitrogen is used to change the nature of ordinary materials.
  nano
Explains what scientists and students at Johns Hopkins University are doing with nanotechnology, and how that technology can be used for biological applications and medical research.

  Optical Illusions
Acquaints the audience with some common optical illusions and explains how they occur. Aspects of art and nature will be brought together in the science of optical illusions.
  Space Technology
Acquaints the audience with some of the innovative solutions developed to solve problems associated with space exploration.
  Statuc Electricity
Demonstrates the Van de Graaff electrostatic generator while discussing the nature of lightning and static electricity.
