Shows a variety of chemical reactions, providing brief explanations
concerning the nature of each one. Discuss clock reactions, catalysts,
endothermic, and exothermic reactions. |
 |

Explains how the "Fire Triangle" (i.e. fuel, oxygen, and
heat) must be present for combustion to occur. Demonstrates ways
in which materials can burn and be prevented from burning. |
 |

Demonstrates the inventions of Nicola Tesla and explains the nature

from under a stack of dishes. Explains that we use seat belts to
keep our own inertia from carrying us out of our car during sudden
stops. |
|
Explains the science of cryogenics and demonstrates how liquid nitrogen is used to change the nature of ordinary materials. |
|

Explains what scientists and students at Johns Hopkins University are doing with nanotechnology, and how that technology can be used for biological applications and medical research. |

Acquaints the audience with some common optical illusions and explains
how they occur. Aspects of art and nature will be brought together
in the science of optical illusions. |
|

Acquaints the audience with some of the innovative solutions developed
to solve problems associated with space exploration. |
