July 2017

June went by in the blink of an eye, and July is likely to follow suit! Slowdown in July to enjoy all the sky has to offer this month. Venus is blazing brightly in our early morning sky, and Gas Giants Jupiter and Saturn are visible at night. Compared to the Moon, Jupiter is the second brightest object in the sky, making it easy to spot with the naked eye. Stop by our Observatory on Friday nights throughout July for an up-close look at Jupiter and Saturn. If you’d like an even closer look at these planets, check out the new images from NASA missions Juno and Cassini! And, don’t forget to mark your calendars-we’re only one month away from the Great American Eclipse on August 21st! Tune into this month’s podcast to learn more!
