The Maryland Science Center's Traveling Science Program brings exciting hands-on, engaging science fun to your school, with programs both large and small encompassing a wide range of topics. From large scale assemblies to hands-on lab classes to portable planetariums; our programs educate as well as stimulate interest and enthusiasm for science.
Our Traveling Science Program vans travel to schools, homeschool co-ops, libraries, and other educational venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, reaching over 80,000 participants annually.
How Do They Do It?
Taking place in the gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, or other large room, our shows educate as well as stimulate interest and enthusiasm for science. Using large-scale props, thrilling experiments, and audience participation, the Traveling Science Program is an experience your students will never forget.
Can TSP Come to Me?
Each year Traveling Science Program vans travel criss cross the state and the entire Mid-Atlantic region. They travel to schools, libraries, and other educational venues throughout Maryland and surrounding states. More than 130,000 adults and students participate annually in Traveling Science Programs.

A Note For Pre-School Teachers
The length and content of our programs are not suited for Pre-Kindergarten classes. We believe these young children learn best when given the opportunity to have playful interactions with objects and people. These interactions should occur in an environment that is meaningful in the context of the child’s development and experience. We encourage you to wait.
