The Science of Sake

The Maryland Science Center is serving up some sake-centric science with The Science of Sake, the latest installment of its science of adult beverage series, on Thursday, May 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The interactive presentation, which will include a sake tasting, will be led by Master Sake Sommelier Tiffany Dawn Soto.

Attendees will be introduced to the cultural history of sake, the science of its brewing process, the styles of sake found in different regions and its grade designations. Tiffany Dawn Soto is a Master Sake Sommelier at PABU Izakaya in the Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore, where she helps diners choose from more than 100 premium sakes. She regularly teaches and hosts private and corporate sake seminars and events all over the world.

The presentation includes drinks and light fare. Tickets are $50 per person ($45 for Maryland Science Center members) and can be purchased at http://msc-sake.eventbrite.com
