Mess Fest

Saturday, June 28, 2014
Noon – 4:00 p.m.

Maryland Science Center
601 Light Street
Baltimore’s Inner Harbor

On Saturday, June 28 the Maryland Science Center will have guests get messy at its first Mess Fest. The interactive celebration of all things spattered, mucky, yucky and messy from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. will feature an array of ooey-gooey indoor and outdoor activities for visitors.

Inside, mess¬-tivities will have guests getting their hands dirty crafting their own slippery slime at the Slime Bar, splattering surfaces with a paintbrush power drill and performing experiments with the state-shifting, non-Newtonian substance Oobleck.

The messy madness continues outside with near-disastrous demonstrations such as dropping paint-filled balloons off the Maryland Science Center’s five-story high roof and engineering explosions with Pringles cans, baking soda and elephant toothpaste.

This event will be held rain or shine. All Mess Fest-ers are encouraged to wear old clothes that can be comfortably covered in the remnants of the messiest day of the year.

Mess Fest events are free with paid admission to the Maryland Science Center. The Maryland Science Center is located at 601 Light Street at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. For information and ticket prices, visit www.marylandsciencecenter.org  or call the 24-Hour Information Line at 410-685-5225.
