Coral: Rekindling Venus

Coral: Rekindling Venus has been selected for New Frontier – the premier event in the US that celebrates new, innovative screen work. As part of Sundance USA, Coral: Rekindling Venus will screen at the Maryland Science Center’s Davis Planetarium at the follwing times:
Saturday, January 19 and 26th; 5:00pm
Sunday, January 20th; 4:00pm
This production was inspired by the Transit of Venus - when Venus passes directly in front of the Sun - an event that happens every century. Through history, previous Venus transits unified a global effort to determine the distance between the Earth and Sun.
A metaphor for global cooperation on climate change, this 20-minute program blends art, beauty and science. The music only soundtrack pairs with an extraordinary journey into a mysterious realm of fluorescent coral reefs, bioluminescent sea creatures and rare marine life, filmed in the oceans most threatened by climate change.
