What are your hours?
The Maryland Science Center is open for Winter hours from September 3rd through February 1st, Mondays we are closed, Tuesday through Thursday 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am-8:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am-6:00 pm, and Sunday 11:00 am-5:00 pm. To view the holiday hours, click here.
Can I bring in a stroller?
Strollers are permitted in much of the Science Center-including our main
exhibit halls. However, strollers are not permitted in any of our
theaters. There is stroller "parking" near these areas or you can leave
your stroller in our Coat Room.
Can I bring my group?
Sure, groups of 15 or more receive discounts on admission. Visit our group
admission page. If you’re coming with a school group please visit

Can I eat in the building?
The Science Center offers delicious, nutritious meals and snacks in Beakers
Café. We also offer a Brown Bag Zone for those who wish to bring
their own food. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I just see an IMAX film or just go to the traveling exhibit?
All Science Center ticket options begin with base admission to the Science
Center. IMAX films and traveling exhibitions are add-on options that are
specially priced and packaged along with base admission for your convenience.
With so much to see and do at the Maryland Science Center—and new
IMAX films and exhibitions on their way—why not a make a day of
it? Or consider membership—base admission is free for members and
IMAX films and traveling exhibitions are available at a discount. The
Science Center does offer IMAX Only tickets after 5:00 pm on certain days
of the week.
What’s New at the Science Center?
What’s not! The Science Center is completely transformed and doubled
in size. Since re-opening in May of 2004 the Science Center has welcomed
hundreds of thousands of guests into its new exhibit halls, and theaters.
Three levels of all new exhibits in bright, open, sunlit galleries, new
eating options, easy ticketing in a massive new atrium, and seating throughout
the building have completely remade the Science Center experience. On
floor explainers, constantly changing IMAX films and traveling exhibits,
and special events and promotions mean that a visit to the Science Center
is always different.
