JUNE 5 2007 For more information: Todd Scott - Himmelrich, Inc. It's Weird, Wild and Gross This Summer in Baltimore - And At A Discount! Three of Baltimore's most popular attractions are collaborating to offer three different perspectives on animals with a weird, wild and gross summer adventure in Baltimore. Visitors can dive-in to the WEIRD underwater world at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, let imagination soar while getting WILD about animals at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and explore the hilariously impolite science of Animal WEIRD things are happening this summer at the National Aquarium in Baltimore–sharks burping in order to maintain buoyancy, turtles with noses like pigs, moving moss that's actually a frog, baby-bearing seahorse Dads, and a fish that's born female and then becomes male. At the WILD Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, African lions and leopards prowl the plains and chimpanzees mug for visitors. Giraffes stretch towards the sun and hard-charging southern white rhinos relax in a natural habitat. More than 1,500 animals share the stage. Visitors to the Maryland Science Center can experience the yuckiest, stinkiest animals in the summer traveling exhibit Animal GROSSology. Hands-on activities and clever animatronics explain why cows are one of the gassiest animals on Earth, how blood-sucking leeches are used in medicine, and which doo-doo goes with whom. "By packaging exhibits with similar offerings, we are creating a synergy between attractions that not only benefits the partners involved, but the destination as a whole," says Tom Noonan, president and CEO of the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association. "For visitors, this kind of packaging offers an experience that is fun and easy to consume while reducing the cost on tickets." The National Aquarium and the Maryland Science Center are within walking distance of each other at Baltimore's Inner Harbor, and The Maryland Zoo is located in picturesque Druid Hill Park, a convenient 10 minute drive from the Inner Harbor. Maps to all participating attractions are available at each. From now through September 3, 2007, visitors to the Maryland Science Center, Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and National Aquarium in Baltimore can receive a $3 discount at two of the three participating venues. When purchasing admission to the first-visited attraction, visitors will receive a discount coupon for the other two attractions. The discount may be used any time before September 3, 2007. The discount may not by used in conjunction with any other promotion or discount. Information about the Weird, Wild and Gross promotion is available on each institution's website: National Aquarium in Baltimore The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore Maryland Science Center
