Seasonal/Special Event Volunteer Positions
Camp-In Volunteer
Camp-In Volunteers serve as assistants during the evening portion of Maryland Science Center’s Camp-In program for 3rd through 5th grade students. The Camp-In Program runs January through May.
Duties:
Volunteers will be responsible for helping with check-in and snack, assisting during three science-based workshops, and preparing workshop activities. Volunteers will receive six (6) hours of service credit for each session they work. Sessions will be completed on either a Friday or Saturday evening between 5:15pm and 11:15pm.
Skills:
Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older and be in at least 10th grade. Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with students between the ages of 9 and 12 years old, able to follow directions, and be enthusiastic about science!
Training:
A one-time volunteer training session will be provided by Camp-In staff.
How do I apply?
To register, send the completed Camp-In Volunteer Registration Form to: Jami Spriggs, Maryland Science Center, 601 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21230, or email to jspriggs@marylandsciencecenter.org. We ask that volunteers commit to at least 4 sessions. Spaces are limited, so please submit all completed forms by January 1, 2013.

What your parents/guardians need to know:
Your parents should know that the Maryland Science Center and your school or youth organization will be responsible for you from the time you check in with the Event Supervisor until you are picked up that evening. You will not be permitted to leave the building unless the trip is approved by the Event Supervisor and supervised by a staff member.
