Look What’s Inside

A full size see-through automobile is the highlight of the exhibit supported by touch screen interactives highlighting today’s technological advances and how they make your car more energy efficient. See how plastics have replaced steel in many car parts giving up unnecessary weight but in many cases increasing safety and efficiency. Get a glimpse into the next wave of alternate fuel transportation with an in-depth look at lithium ion battery technology used to power our very own fleet of 100% electric vehicles—altcar!

Kids Construct Cars

Kid sized construction tables let young designers and engineers design their own cars using puzzle pieces. Computer touch screen interactives take the car construction process to a whole new level as you add everything from windshields to bumpers to seating on your chassis and learn how those choices effect energy efficiency. Add your favorite paint scheme to finish your dream car. Take the Did You Know Quiz to see how much you really know about energy and transportation.

What Does Tomorrow Hold?

Hydrogen fuel cells, lithium ion batteries that can power cars up to 120 miles between charges, technological advances in plastics and polymers, the importance of recycling and recovery—all these areas will effect the car of tomorrow and transportation as a whole. Plus, they benefit the environment. This exhibit is a hands-on look at the next generation of automobiles plus a practical demonstration of what’s possible today.
