Science Uncorked

When: October 2, 2014 7:00 pm

The Maryland Science Center’s popular science of adult beverages series focuses on wine in October with a presentation in Science Uncorked, led by Joe and Mary Barbera, co-owners of AIDA Bistro & Wine Bar. The future of wine is the topic with an overview on the latest trends in wine-making and delivery systems. Weather-permitting, Science Uncorked will take place under the stars on the rooftop terrace overlooking the harbor. Advance registration required.

Friday Night Stargazing in the Observatory

Venture out to our urban rooftop Observatory to view the night sky as our staff help you find planets and constellations. The Observatory is open every Friday night, weather permitting. Stargazing is free and open to the public, admission to the Science Center is not required. Please phone 410.545.2999 before your visit to check on viewing conditions.

National Drive Electric Week

Sungazing Saturdays

Safely look at the Sun and its features–such as sunspots and prominences–through a special set of filters on our telescope. The Observatory is open to museum visitors every Saturday, weather permitting, and admission is included in general Science Center admission. Gadget and Gizmo’s Puppet Science Show

This experience is designed for children 5 and younger with their adult caregiver. Join Gadget and Gizmo as they explore and discover a variety of science concepts. Enjoy music, dancing, movement activities and more in this interactive puppet show. Our puppet show for September will be all about Baltimore.

Soft Circuit Competition

Who: Families & Kids Where: Maryland Science Center When: September 27, 2014 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm How Much? Free to register and admission on the competition date will be free for participant and up to 3 team members.

Get hands on with the Maryland Science Center for our Soft Circuit Competition! Soft circuits blend the use of conductive materials and electrical components with craft materials and fabrics to make exciting art pieces, clothing, and toys. We will provide tips, hints, and a kit of LEDs, batteries, battery holders, and conductive thread—you take care of the rest. Advance registration required.

First Fridays
