Science on Tap: The Craft Beer Movement

The Maryland Science Center’s popular science of adult beverages series returns with a focus on beer in June with World of Beer Baltimore. The presentation will explore the craft beer movement and include sampling of various beer styles. Ticket required.

Super Science Slumber Party

Who: Families & Kids Where: Maryland Science Center When: May 29, 2015 5:30 pm - 9:30 am How Much? $35 per person

Spend a night at our museum with the Super Science Slumber Party. Participate in hands-on activities throughout the building, watch movies, play in the Kids Room, craft and create in The Shed, roar with the dinosaurs, experiment in SciLab, and when it’s time to say lights out—sleep in the exhibit halls. Advance registration required.

Friday Night Stargazing

Who: Adults, Educators, Families & Kids, Members Where: The Observatory When: Every Friday Night, 7:00-10:30pm How Much? Free to the public

Venture out to our urban rooftop Observatory to view the night sky as our staff help you find planets and constellations. The Observatory is open every Friday night, weather permitting. Stargazing is free and open to the public, admission to the Science Center is not required. Please phone 410.545.2999 before your visit to check on viewing conditions.

Sungazing Saturdays

Who: Adults, Educators, Families & Kids, Members Where: The Observatory When: Every Saturday, 1:00-4:00pm How Much? Free with paid admission

Safely look at the Sun and its features–such as sunspots and prominences–through a special set of filters on our telescope. The Observatory is open to museum visitors every Saturday, weather permitting, and admission is included in general Science Center admission. Please phone 410.545.2999 before your visit to check on viewing conditions.

Humpback Whales 3D Opens in IMAX

Humpback Whales 3D is an extraordinary journey into the mysterious world of one of nature’s most awe-inspiring marine mammals. Set in the spectacular waters of Alaska, Hawaii and the remote islands of Tonga, this ocean adventure offers audiences an up-close look at how these whales communicate, sing, feed, play and take care of their young.
