Pi(e) Day

If there are two things that should be paired together, it’s Party and Pi(e). March 14th, or 3.14, marks the celebration of the mathematical constant, Pi. The Maryland Science Center is ready to celebrate everything Pi, from eating pie to exploring its infinite possibilities.

Venture out to our urban rooftop Observatory to view the night sky as our staff help you find planets and constellations. Stargazing is free and open to the public.

Sungazing Saturdays

Who: Adults, Educators, Families & Kids, Members Where: The Observatory When: Every Saturday, 1:00-4:00pm How Much? Free with paid admission

Safely look at the Sun and its features–such as sunspots and prominences–through a special set of filters on our telescope.

Science of Chocolate: Cocoa-ology

Who: 21+ only, Adults Where: Maryland Science Center When: February 18, 2016 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm How Much? $45 ($40 for Members)

The Maryland Science Center’s science of adult beverage series focuses on chocolate in February with a presentation in Cocoa-ology. The presentation will feature chocolate pairings with wines and liqueurs as well as a mild dose of history and science facts. Advance ticket purchase required.

First Fridays

Admission for First Fridays includes the permanent exhibit halls, planetarium, and IMAX Theater. All visitors pay just $9 for admission during First Fridays.
