This activity is specially designed for children ages five through eight. Each week come and face a new I.C.E. challenge based on our monthly theme. Our theme for February is myths busted. Friday Night Stargazing in the Observatory
Every Friday: 5:30-8pm (weather permitting)
Venture out to our urban rooftop Observatory to view the night sky as our staff help you find planets and constellations. The Observatory is open every Friday night free of charge to the public, weather permitting. Stargazing is free and open to the public, admission to the Science Center is not required. Please phone 410.545.2999 before your visit to check on viewing conditions.

Fridays After Five
Fridays through March 23: 5-8pm
Gather up the family and come down to enjoy three levels of exhibits, a live science presentation, a star-studded planetarium presentation, and a larger-than-life film on our five-story IMAX screen!

Sungazing Saturdays
Saturdays: 1-4pm (weather permitting)
Safely look at the Sun and its features–such as sunspots and prominences–through a special set of filters on our telescope. The Observatory is open to museum visitors every Saturday, weather permitting, and admission is included in general Science Center admission. A New Exhibit–Harry's Big Adventure: My Bug World
Saturday, February 4
Harry's Big Adventure: My Bug World is hosted by Harry, a Chinese Praying Mantis, and his insect friends. It features thousands of live bugs, vidoe, audio, games and more. It is designed to give visitors an up-close view of nature and a new perspective on the role insects play in our environment. Live Cooking demos and bug performances will take place every weekend!

Cocoa-ology
Thursday, February 23: 7-9pm
The Science Center’s popular adult beverage series is incorprating chocolate into the February installment bringing you the science of chocolate, or as we like to call it–Cocoa-ology! Join Larry McGlinchey, owner and chocolatier of Cacao Lorenzo in Timonium for a night of tasty chocolate and an interactive presentation. Learn about the different kinds of chocolate, the best time to eat chocolate, and what to drink with your chocolate. IMAX Film Festival Comes to an End
Thursday, March 1
Come on down to the Science Center to experience the popular IMAX Film Festival while it is still here. Showcasing the best in the large format genre featuring theatrical performances, stories of survival, and films that take a look at the nature and animals that surround us. Film titles rotate on a frequent basis and during the run of the Film Festival and there is no need to purchase a Science Center exhibit admission ticket to see IMAX films. All films are available at single entry admission prices throughout the day.

Pi Day
Wednesday, March 14; 10am-1pm
If there are two things that should be paired together, it’s Party and Pi(e). March 14th, or 3.14, marks the celebration of the mathematical constant, Pi, which is used to calculate the circumference of a circle. The Maryland Science Center is ready to celebrate everything Pi, from eating pie to reciting pi, to exposing the secrets of Pi.
