Food Science Workshop: Pickling 101

Have you ever wondered what makes a pickle, a pickle? Discover the answer to that question at our Introduction to Basic Pickling workshop, where you will use kitchen chemistry to explore how brines preserve pickley treats. This 60-minute session will explore the science behind food preservation and teach participants two basic pickling techniques: quick pickles and fridge pickles. Time for Q&A is included in the workshop.
Tickets are $10 and participants do not need to purchase a ticket to the Maryland Science Center to participate in the workshop. Advanced registration is required. Please call 410-545-5980 to purchase tickets.
