Design and Build a Mousetrap-Powered Pumpkin Launching Catapult.
Nothing says fall like launching pumpkins. After the success of the Green Prix competition, we're back with a new challenge- a mousetrap powered pumpkin launcher. We provide the mousetrap, the pumpkin, some hints, and a few examples, you provide the brainpower and your building skills. Mix it all together and try your luck on launch day.
The pumpkin is of the foam variety to facilitate safe indoor launches- especially good during your R&D phase at home. We provide safety stops to protect fingers and instructions on how to install them, plus all the other pertinent pumpkin parameters. Pick up your kit at the Maryland Science Center beginning Friday, October 12th.
Participation is limited to 50. Launch builder and two additional team members receive free admission on Launch Day. To reserve your launch kit, send an email to CatapultComp@MarylandScienceCenter.org
All kits must be picked up at MSC- no kits can be mailed.
