Time: Noon - 4:00 PM
Location: Maryland Science Center
Cost: Free with paid admission
Who should attend:Parents and kids of all ages
When: Saturday, April 24, 2010

Green is the new black here at the Maryland Science Center. We’ll be exploring family-friendly ways to adopt a greener lifestyle and help conserve our planet’s resources. Our friends from Bash the Trash are visiting from New York to put on a musical, interactive show about the importance of recycling and the science of music. You’ll make your own instruments to play along with the show and then everyone will go on a musical parade.

While you’re here, make flower baskets from plastic bottles, make your own recycled paper, make a reusable tote bag, play recycle games and receive your own sapling and seeds to take home. Learn how to plant your own veggies, too.

Folks from the American Chemical Society, the Maryland Master Gardeners, and the Citizen Science program will be on hand with environmental experiments and plenty of information about how to keep our planet healthy. Also, don’t forget to bring your old cell phones to donate! We’ll be collecting phones for Call2Recycle. It’s tax deductible AND good for the environment.

All activities are free with paid admission.
