Get a jump start on your New Year’s resolution by pioneering your way through brand new skill sets! First, work on those engineering skills by constructing your very own ropemaking tool out of wood. Then, put that tool to the test as you work on your textile making skills by twisting fabrics and fibers into different lengths of rope. Want to use that rope to make a dog or cat toy? How about turning it into a chic rope shelf for your home? You could even make your great aunt Edna that stylish set of nesting rope bowls for her coffee table that she just has to have. The possibilities are endless, and there will be time to explore them all in this workshop. The best part? You’ll get to take your rope and your tool home with you so the ropemaking fun never has to end.
Cost is $20 per person. There is no member discount for our workshop programs. All supplies and museum admission are included. The workshop is designed for ages 10 and up. Anyone under 16 must participate with an adult, who must also register.
