Explore making photographs with sunlight as we close out our Let’s Science Summer week focusing on all things sun and heat. The process of cyanotyping has remained relatively unchanged since the mid-19th century. In this workshop, our Shed staff will guide you through the modern twists on the historic process of cyanotyping, including coating paper with chemicals that turn deep blue in sunlight, collaging together found objects and botanical elements, and drawing your own negative to create your own artistic prints.
*This workshop will take place both inside and outside (weather permitting), so please dress appropriately. Cost is $20 per person. There is no member discount for our workshop programs. All supplies and museum admission are included. The workshop is designed for ages 10 and up. Anyone under 16 must participate with an adult, whom must also register. Advance registration and payment required.
