Get ready to put your engineering skills to the test in our Bridge Building Challenge! Use masking tape, newspaper, and more to build a bridge capable of supporting various weights. Pre-registered teams of up to four people can pick up their kits and begin constructing their bridge at 11am. Teams must build their bridges using only the materials provided in their bridge building kits. Teams will have from 11am to 1pm to build and test their bridges. Bridges can be tested (and retested!) to see how much weight they can support multiple times between 11am and 1pm. Will your bridge stand strong or will it buckle under pressure?

Additional details:

  • Teams will have from 11am to 1pm to design, build, and test their bridge using only the materials provided.
  • The completed bridge should be able to span a distance of 18 in (46 cm).
  • Teams will be able to test the strength of their design by adding various weights to the center of the bridge.
  • Free to participate and museum admission free for up to 4 team members

Participation is limited to 24 teams of four.
