Joint BodyLink/TerraLink Presentation
Bringing the Bay into the Classroom

If you can't make it out to the Bay this year, why not bring the Bay to your students? First, Caroline Wicks of UMCES will give us an update on the health of the Bay and a forecast for the summer from the Ecocheck program. Then Jennie Queen-Baker from UMBI will introduce teachers to the Loaner Lab program. Loaner Lab lends state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to teachers free of charge! From microbiology to water quality, the Loaner Lab program offers centrifuges, electrophoresis boxes, and pH testing probes. The equipment comes with curriculum modules and student worksheets to create state-of-the-art laboratory experiences for your science classroom.

What's next for humans in space?

This summer, the space shuttle is set to return to flight, but it is nearing the end of its lifetime. What is the future of the space shuttle program, and what might replace it? Is there any remaining chance for a human servicing mission for the Hubble Space Telescope? Find out the answers to these questions and more as our speaker from NASA Headquarters briefs us on the future of manned space flight.
