Let The Maryland Science Center Come to you!

The Maryland Science Center's Traveling Science Program bring exciting hands-on, minds-on science fun to your school! We have programs both large and small encompassing a wide range of topics. From chemistry to slime to portable planetariums, our programs show students and teachers how much fun science can be. Taking place in the gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, or other large room, our shows educate as well as stimulate interest and enthusiasm for science. Using large-scale props, thrilling experiments, and audience participation, the Traveling Science Program is an experience your students will never forget.

Each year Traveling Science Program vans travel criss cross the state and the entire Mid-Atlantic region. They travel to schools, libraries, and other educational venues throughout Maryland and surrounding states. More than 130,000 adults and students participate annually in Traveling Science Programs.

A Note For Pre-School Teachers: It's best to wait. We have found that the length and content of TSP programs is not suited for pre-school classes. Experience has shown us that 4-year-old, Pre-K students become frightened by simple events such as popping a balloon or lighting a match, and there is the potential for our show to have an unsettling effect on these very young audiences.
