Planaria are freshwater flatworms that have the ability to regenerate any type of cell in response to injury. By observing planaria at different stages of regeneration, students will learn about stem cells. Planaria are also sensitive to environmental contaminants. Students will also discover how contaminants in our water can affect growth rate and survival.
