The Maryland Science Center has been a pioneer in its efforts to weave itself into the vital fabric of the community. The Science Center was the first resident at what would come to be known as Baltimore's Inner Harbor—an area that is a national model for economic renewal and urban renaissance. The Science Center is a presence at our Inner Harbor location and throughout the state and region making the Science Center a truly active member of the community both local, and at large.

We host thousands of school children on field trips during the school year and open our doors to community groups, clubs, and organizations. And we partner with local experts in the fields of education, science, technology, and healthcare to be both inclusive and accurate in the ways in which we present our exhibits, shows, and programs. The Maryland Science Center is a place where people work, play, learn, volunteer, and gather together as friends, families, and neighbors to experience all that their Science Center offers.

We are committed to creating accessible programs that allow visitors to experience our exhibits and shows in unique and non-traditional ways—ensuring that as many members of the community can utilize all that the Maryland Science Center offers. Two of our most popular programs that underscore these efforts are overnight programs and dollar admission days.

Camp In

At the end of the day the Maryland Science Center closes to the general public but that doesn't mean the Science Center sleeps. Throughout the year Webelo, Bridging Brownie/Junior Girl Scout, youth groups and children in grades 3 through 6, "camp IN" at the Maryland Science Center. Learn More.

Dollar Days

In December the Science Center offers $1 admission to its exhibit halls on a select weekend. Admission is on a first-come, first served basis.
