Early Childhood Instructor
Enthusiastic educators wanted for part time employment. Must have experience working with groups of children, preferably young children and be able to work independently and be flexible.
Educators will visit Head Start sites each month and teach a 45 minute classroom experience to each class. Each month, a new program is introduced. Staff will be required to learn the materials and will be given a lesson plan. Educators will arrive at the site to teach the lesson, with the assistance of the classroom teacher. Two classes are scheduled for each session, with the average working time of 3 hours per day. Classes are generally scheduled at 9:30 and 10:30am. Opportunity available is for three Mondays a month.
Programs will be delivered to groups of 3-5 year olds, usually divided by age.
All sites are located within the city limit. Must have access to reliable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed. All employees must pass fingerprint/background check.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably with an education major
- Experience working with children in a group setting
- Experience executing a lesson plan
