Love You Day

Visitors to the Maryland Science Center can celebrate healthy lifestyles at Love You Day on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 12 - 4 p.m. The full day of family fun includes heart-healthy cooking demonstrations, and activities to build awareness of healthy lifestyles and a positive self image.

As part of American Heart Month, the American Heart Association will showcase the importance of heart health and provide tips to lead a healthy lifestyle. The Maryland Science Center’s head chef will demonstrate how to make a healthy meal as well as detail the health benefits of each ingredient. A “ladies only” area will promote the American Heart Associations’ Go Red campaign to educate women about heart disease.

Love You Day includes a variety of interactive experiences such as the Paper Plate Food Pyramid, rope jumping to observe heart rate increases, team building activities and self esteem exercises.

All events are free with paid admission to the Maryland Science Center. The Maryland Science Center is located at 601 Light Street at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
