Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Stampedes Into IMAX

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, the sequel to Dreamworks’ 2005 animated blockbuster, Madagascar, has been digitally re-mastered and will be shown daily in the Maryland Science Center’s St. John Properties IMAX Theater beginning Friday, November 7, 2008.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa continues the adventures of zoo animals Marty the zebra, Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippopotamus as they find themselves in the plains of Africa in another escape plan gone awry. Encountering long-lost relatives and pitted against romantic rivals and hunters alike, the animals find out that that the wild is far different from their home in New York.

The star-studded cast, including Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben Stiller, Sasha Baron Cohen and David Schwimmer, returns for the Madagascar sequel. New voices in Escape 2 Africa are provided by Alec Baldwin and Bernie Mac, in his final role. Madgagascar recorded more than $500 million at the box office.

The release of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa in IMAX will allow movie goers to experience the eagerly anticipated adventure with premier audio and visual technology. The St. John Properties IMAX Theater features the revolutionary concave five-story screen with three-dimensional capabilities and powerful digital surround sound blasting 11,000 watts.

The Maryland Science Center at Baltimore's Inner Harbor is visited by more than 500,000 people each year.
